Performance Network seeks disciplined, engaged college graduates to fill the three apprentice positions available. With this comprehensive program selected individuals will receive hands on experience at a professional, nationally respected, Equity theatre. We encourage those who have a deep-rooted desire to do theatre to apply. With long hours you must be fully committed to your craft to excel in this position. However, having said this, the rewards are endless and the knowledge you will gain from working with experienced, professional actors, designers, stage managers, directors and administrators is insurmountable.
The apprenticeship will be what you make of it; the harder you work the greater the rewards.
The position is paid a $300 stipend to help defray living costs. This apprenticeship offers hands-on training in the areas of stage management, house management, development, marketing and technical theatre. On average an apprentice will work between 60 and 80 hours a week with longer hours during load in/ load out weeks.

Management Will be answering to the Managing Director and Company Manager for projects in Marketing, Development and general management departments. This apprentice will also be trained to answer phones and handle ticket sales.
Marketing Intern The Marketing intern will work directly with our Marketing Director and marketing apprentice to fulfill the needs of the department. Tasks may include writing press releases and other marketing materials, postering Downtown Ann Arbor and other surrounding areas, designing advertisements and fliers, and customer service. Qualifications include: Writing skills (Press releases, e-mails, Facebook, Twitter), Design skills (InDesign, Photoshop, HTML), People skills (Public speaking, passing out fliers, answering phones). Literary Interns Assist with managing script submissions, organizing table readings, and researching scripts from other theatres and publications around the country. Catalogue incoming scripts and process reader reports.
Dramaturgy Interns Work directly with the directors of professional season shows and the Associate Artistic Director, providing research and assistance with dramaturgical concerns.
Children's Theatre Intern Assist with educational workshops, and assistant direct children's shows. Work with Associate Artistic Director and Outreach Director to liaison with schools and promote programs in the community.
Production Interns Assist the Artistic Director in scheduling meetings and liaising with designers, stage managers and directors. Attend rehearsals and production meetings with AD as observers.
Fireside Festival Interns Assist with managing script submissions, hiring directors, liaising with playwrights, recording each reading, copying scripts and other festival related tasks. Report to the Associate Artistic Director.
